why is it being adopted? It cant do 3-phase.
Nobody will have 80 amps on single-phase house wiring.

If you have 480V three-phase available, you have two choices. Either you
can supply it with 277VAC phase-to-neutral or rectify it and supply 670VDC.

The AC solution is okay but agreed it is all coming off one phase so you
have an unbalanced load. Fine if you have six or twelve charging stations
off one transformer but not so good with one charging station and an HVAC
system load.

The DC solution is a whole lot easier because you can just rectify whatever
line voltage you have and supply it... rectified three-phase has fairly
little ripple. You can bump it up to 1KV if you want, but 670VDC is easy
off your existing industrial 480VAC supply.
