anyone have a listing for these?
tried mortec and z28com (or nastyz28.com I forget) and no listings for
these.

My buddy and I picked up two small blocks from an auction and we're
trying to figure out what they were from... (dirt cheap...)

One's a 305, one's a 350.
Post 86 blocks, one piece seal, centerbolt valvecovers. All iron, TBI.
Not vortec heads.

Block #'s show up as 86-95 305/350 and head #'s are in the same range.
Best I can tell is the 305 is an 87-95 truck engine and the 350 may have
been an 89-92 Camaro engine, but I don't recall too many 350 TBI
camaros... the pad by the alternator has legible suffix codes (FAA and
UPK) but the VIN section is illegible. We're junking the 305 anyway and
the 350 heads will probably go on my buddy's Nova, but I'm curious what
it came out of... (I suspect they're probably both truck engines...)

305:
block: 14012058
block suffix code: FAA
heads: 14102187

350:
block: 1005427
block suffix code: UPK
heads: 14102193

no prob. Unfortunately no one seems to have those codes. I can't make
out the VIN's either on the pads, so we're just going to do a teardown
anyway... :)

Now that I think about it. I once had a Chevy block that I wanted to know what
car it came out of. I called the Chevy dealer, told the parts guy that I wanted
to rebuild it but I didn't know what it was. He asked for the numbers and came
back and told me it was a 350 out of a 78 Camaro. It might be worth a shot to
try that.

That might be worth a shot... I'll keep the numbers for my next visit to
a dealer... didn't even think they might know... :)
